As you give at the year's end in 2024, let's give in reflection for what God has done in 2024 but also in anticipation for what He will do in 2025 and beyond. We want to “give our first and best” as a reflection that Jesus is Above All in every aspect of our lives. Let's be "first and best" givers this December because He went first for us!
We realize these provisions don’t apply to everyone at Blue Springs Christian Church, but we hope informing you of these great tax benefits will help you make the most of your 2024 giving as we continue to guide people into a fully devoted relationship with Jesus - together!
1) Make sure all checks are postmarked by December 31 and that they are mailed to the church office at Blue Springs Christian Church 7920 S 7 Hwy, Blue Springs, MO 64014. The office will be closed December 25 – January 1, but you can use our secure mailbox out front at any time. Also, don’t hesitate to let us know if we can meet you at the church at a certain time that is convenient for you, and we certainly can.
2) Another tax-efficient way to give is through stocks or other marketable securities. Giving stocks is a great way not only to maximize your charitable giving through an investment you’ve made but also to do so in a tax-efficient manner as you avoid the capital gains tax on the investment while receiving a full charitable deduction!
If you are interested in making a stock gift, please give your broker the following details:
We receive donations of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds through our account with the Truman Heartland Community Foundation.

3) Are you 70 ½ or older? If so, you may want to consider making charitable gifts through a QCD (qualified charitable distribution). A QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA custodian, payable to the charitable organization of your choice. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met. In addition to the benefits of giving charitably, a QCD excludes the amount donated from taxable income, which is unlike regular withdrawals from an IRA. Keeping your taxable income lower may reduce the impact to certain tax credits and deductions, including Social Security and Medicare. Also, QCDs don’t require that you itemize, which due to the recent tax law changes, means you may decide to take advantage of the higher standard deduction, but still use a QCD for charitable giving. If you want to visit more about making a gift through a QCD, please contact David Judd (djudd@bscc.org) or speak with your financial advisor.

Regardless of how you give at year's end in 2024, know that we are grateful for your generosity and most importantly that God is glorified by it. Thank you for continuing to give faithfully as we seek to guide people into a fully devoted relationship with Jesus - together!
